The junior girls volleyball team
This week, the team followed up a tournament with a pair of season-opening home matches against St. Mikes and Stratford Central. They struggled against St. Mikes, dropping both sets, but followed it up with a win over Stratford Central, winning both sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-15. Their 1-1 record currently has the team tied for fourth place in their league.
The senior girls volleyball team had similar results in their home opener. The Seniors were outmatched against St. Mikes (25-12, 25-17), but went on to beat Stratford Central 2-1. Their 1-1 record has them sitting in fifth place in their league.
The junior boys basketball team hosted Goderich on Monday, in hopes of getting their first home win of the season. They did just that, as they edged out a 43-37 victory. Mitch Watt paved the way, scoring 21 points, while Logan Edwards wasn’t too shabby either with 11 points. The team improves to 2-2, which places them in fifth in their league.
The senior boys basketball team also hosted Goderich in hopes of getting their first win of the season. They did so in dominating fashion, winning 53-36. 48 of their 53 points came from the trio of Corey Fulop (17 points), Sam Thorup (16 points), and Hayden Moore (15 points). The win put them in a tie for seventh, with a 1-3 record.
