The FINNBILT Novice BB team won their only game this week, a 7-5 victory over the Strathroy Rockets. The team has a record of 10-2-5, good for fourth in the division. They play tomorrow at the St. Thomas Timken Community Centre against the Stars at 12:30 pm, followed by a home game on Monday, Dec. 21 at 7:10 pm against the South Huron Sabres.
The Dunny’s Atom AE team faced their arch-rival Lucan Irish for the second time in a week, and for the second time prevailed by a single goal, this time with a 3-2 victory. Austin DeBoer opened the scoring in style, by going top-corner on a breakaway wrister. After Lucan took the lead 2-1, Carson Brock tied things up by going to the net and knocking in the rebound off a Finn Stewart shot. Then, with 51 seconds left, Jake Grant slid a loose puck past the Lucan goalie for the winning goal, with Stewart and DeBoer getting the assists.
The ANAF Bantam BB team started off the week with a 6-1 loss to a strong Petrolia Oilers team, but rebounded with two wins in a row, a 3-1 win over the Lambton Shores Predators and a 6-1 win over the Lucan Irish. The team is currently fifth in their division with a 7-9-4 record. The bantams play tonight, 7:40 pm at the Lambeth Community Centre against the Lancers, before their holiday break.
The STM Landscaping Atom Girls team had a tough weekend, with three games in two days, but they managed to escape with three points. First, they tied the Lambeth Lancers 1-1 on Saturday. The atoms opened up their Sunday with a 3-2 win over the Sarnia Lady Sting; their first win of the second half. They then played the undefeated Petrolia Oilers shortly after, and the team showed their exhaustion, losing 7-0.
The STM Fire Department PeeWee BB team are on a four-game winning streak after a 5-4 win over the Lucan Irish, and a 5-2 win over the Strathroy Jr. Rockets. Kaleb Shalk had a three point effort, while Owen McIntosh, Keegan Neithercott, Nathan Reay, and Loghan Hodkinson all had two points. The team has a record of 10-9-1, good for fourth in the league. Next week, they play the South Huron Sabres at home on Monday, Dec. 21 at 8:20 pm before a break for the holidays.
The Norampac PeeWee Girls team had a home and home with the Zorra Fuzion this weekend, managing three of four points. First, it was a 3-3 tie on the home stretch of the series, and then they followed that with a 1-0 win in Zorra. Emma Luyten performed well for the shutout. The team has a couple home games this weekend before the holiday break. First, they play tonight at 5:45 pm against London. They also play tomorrow night at 12:45 pm against Windsor.
The Foodland Novice AE team extended their point streak to three games with a 5-0 win over the Lucan Irish, their second shutout in a row. Owen Slade, Callum McIntosh, and Jared Ballantyne all had three point nights, while Issac Cousineau got the shutout. The team improves to .500, with an 8-8-1 record that puts them sixth in the league. The novices plays at the Flight Exec Centre against the Dorchester Dragons on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3:00 pm, followed by a Monday, Dec. 21 home game against the South Huron Sabres at 6:00 pm.
The Frayne Bantam AE team extended their winning streak to six games, and their shutout streak to two games, with a 2-0 win over the Dorchester Dragons on Sunday. Sullivan Mitchell played amazing in net, while Sean Slater and George Hensal scored for the Rock. The team currently sits second in the league with a 9-2-3 record. They play twice this weekend, first at the Mooretown Sports Complex against the Flags tomorrow at 3:45 pm, followed by a home game against the Strathroy Jr. Rockets on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3:45 pm.
The Hubbard Pharmacy Midget Girls team are now on a seven-game winning streak thanks to two wins last weekend. First, it was a dominating 9-0 win over the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders, and they followed it up with a 4-1 win over the Kent County Fillies. The midgets remains unbeaten in the second half of the season, with a 7-0-0 record. They only play one game next week, a Sunday, Dec. 20 game at the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre Complex against the East Lambton Eagles at 5:15 pm.
The McDonald’s Independent Atom BB team improved their winning streak to three games thanks to a 7-2 win over the Lucan Irish. Mark Barton and Owen Boyd both had two goals, while Ethan Pearce, Jimmy Schiedel and Ian Boyd also contributed with goals. The team is 19-2-0, good for first in the league.
