The FINNBILT Novice BB team won their only game this week, a 2-0 victory over the Belmont Rangers. Jayden Tipping and Colton Henderson scored the goals for the Rock. They currently sit in fourth place in their division with a 9-2-5 record, and they are just four points back of the first place Mt. Brydges Cougars. Next week, the team plays the Strathroy Jr. Rockets at home on Monday, Dec. 14 at 7:10 pm.
The Foodland Novice AE team had a successful weekend, starting with a 1-1 tie with a strong Lambeth Lancers team. Jared Ballantyne scored for the Novices, assisted by Evan Ballantyne. They followed that with a 7-0 win over the Lucan Irish. Trevor Aarts was in net for both games. The team has a record of 7-8-1, good for sixth in the division. Their only game next week is a rematch against the Lucan Irish at home on Monday, Dec. 14 at 6:00 pm.
The Home Hardware PeeWee AE team built on their winning streak with a 5-1 win over the Petrolia Oilers. The team is currently tied for fifth in their division, with a 5-9-1 record. The team has a busy schedule this week, starting with a game tomorrow at the St. Thomas Timken Community Centre against the Stars at 2:45 pm, followed by a home game against the Dorchester Dragons on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7:25 pm. They finish off the week with a game at the Ilderton Arena against the Jets on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 7:00 pm.
The McDonald’s Independent Atom BB team ended their two-game losing streak with back-to-back wins; a 4-1 victory over the Belmont Rangers, and a 4-0 win over the Petrolia Oilers. The team has a record of 18-2-0, good for first in their entire league. Their only action this week is a road game tomorrow at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre against the Irish at 2:00 pm.
The Kinsmen Novice Girls team had a rough start to the weekend, with a tough 3-1 loss to the undefeated Stratford Aces, but they rebounded with a 6-3 win over the Mooretown Lady Flags. The win gives them a 4-2-0 record, which puts them in third in their division.
The Dunny’s Atom AE team ended their two-game losing skid with a big 4-3 win over the Lucan Irish. Finn Stewart, Austin DeBoer, Jake Grant, and Wil Boreham scored the goals, while Ezra Bender made some great saves in net to preserve the win. Tomorrow, the team hits the road for a game against the Ilderton Jets at 11:00 am, followed by a home game Monday, Dec. 14 against the Lucan Irish at 7:45 pm.
The STM Landscaping Atom Girls team tied the Zorra Fuzion 2-2 in their only game this week. Grace Hillman was excellent in net, while Ava Ansley and Natalie Johnston scored the goals for the Rock. The team has a busy schedule this weekend, with a game tomorrow at the Lambeth Arena against the Lancers at 12:00 pm, followed by two games on Sunday, Dec. 13, first at the RBC Centre (Rink 2) against the Sarnia Lady Sting at 11:00 pm, and a game at the Greenwood Arena against the Petrolia Oilers at 1:30 pm.
The STM Fire Department PeeWee BB team won their second game in a row with a 6-4 victory over the Wallaceburg Lakers. Keegan Neithercott, Loghan Hodkinson (2), Owen MacIntosh, Curtis Taylor, and Nathan Reay all scored goals, while Curtis Taylor and Jeremy Smith both had two-assist nights. The team currently has a record of 8-9-1, which places them in fourth in their division. Tomorrow, they travel to the Lucan Community Memorial Arena to play the Irish at 4:00 pm, and follow it up with a home game Monday, Dec. 14 against the Strathroy Jr. Rockets at 8:20 pm.
The Frayne Custom Cabinets Bantam AE team had an excellent game on Sunday, with a 3-0 win over the Lambeth Lancers. Jake Bryan played well in net for the shutout, while Eric Taylor (2) and Julian Boyer scored the goals. They are currently second in the league with an 8-2-3 record, and are just a point behind the first place Strathroy Jr. Rockets. Next week, they play a couple road games, first on Sunday, Dec. 13 at the Flight Exec Centre against the Dorchester Dragons at 6:30 pm, followed by a game on Thursday, Dec. 17 at the Ilderton Arena against the Jets at 8:10 pm.
