Ram Rodeo Tour returns to South Huron Recreation Centre Aug. 7-9 – By Dan Rankin

Cowboys and cowgirls of all ages will be converging on Exeter again in one week, as the Ram Rodeo Tour sets up shop at the South Huron Recreation Centre for the 18th time.
Things get underway next Friday, Aug. 7 at 6:00 pm with a Family Friendly Rodeo Night presented by the South Huron Optimists, featuring western themed festivities by Party Perfect, kids games and attractions and a Ram Rodeo Olympics for youngsters until 9:00 pm.
Those events for kids are great for the families who now have new generations of rodeo fans to bring out on the weekend, South Huron manager of community services Jo-Anne Fields said. “We’ve found that families that used to come and bring the kids, those kids have grown up now, they’ve had kids, and they’re coming back,” she said, adding that she’s been receiving calls interested in the rodeo from campers who noticed signage at Port Blake Conservation Area. “It has really grown that way.”
A 19+ BX 93 Video Dance Party on the arena floor follows, presented by the Exeter Saddle Club and running from 9:00 pm 1:00 am. Tickets can be purchased from the South Huron Recreation Centre in advance for $12.00, or $15.00 at the door. Doors will open at 8:00 pm.
