Perth County Paramedic Chief Wins Award for Leadership

The Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs held their annual general meeting and awards gala this past week in Windsor. The annual Awards Gala concludes a week of education and meetings. The Gala evening recognizes excellence, bravery and service from our Ontario paramedics.
Chief Linda Rockwood who is one of the Province’s first female paramedic Chiefs was taken by surprise when her name was announced as the recipient of the Richard J Armstrong Award for leadership. This prestigious award is chosen from leadership nominations from across the province.
“Chief Rockwood is known locally as a great leader, and now she has received provincial recognition” stated Julie Jeffrey, Perth EMS Quality Assurance Commander. Commander Jeffrey submitted her nomination on behalf of the team Chief Rockwood leads.
Bill Arthur, CAO for the County of Perth Stated: “It is great to have one of our own Perth County leaders recognized, by their peers, for their outstanding achievements and abilities. We are extremely proud of Chief Rockwood”, and the head of Perth County Council Warden Robert Wilhelm stated “We in Perth County who have had the opportunity to work with Linda over the years have long realized her strong leadership and dedication to our EMS team and she certainly is deserving of this award”
Chief Rockwood has been leading the Emergency Services department for the County of Perth Since 2000.
