The owners and staff of Lyric Flowers in St. Marys will be opening their homes to the public next month as part of a pair of fundraising initiatives to support the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation’s “Someone I Know” capital campaign.
On Sunday, Dec. 6 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Lyric Flowers will be hosting a Christmas Home Tour for aspiring home decorators to come by and see how the owners and staff have done up their homes for the holiday season. The three stops include the home of Lyric Flowers owners Lanny Hoare and Jay Harrison at 77 Parkhaven Crescent, Paula Hoare’s home at 31 Sparling Crescent and Tracy Thomson’s home at 17 Oakwood Court. Admission will be by donation, with donations being accepted at all three homes and all proceeds going to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Lanny said people have been curious how they, as owners of a local flower and home decor shop, decorated their home for Christmas and this presented them with a unique way to answer those requests while also supporting a good cause locally. “All three homes are located in St. Marys and built in different styles with different decors,” he said. For more information, stop by the store at 123 Queen Street East in St. Marys or find them on Facebook.
Another way Lyric Flowers customers can support the Hospital Foundation is by purchasing a candleholder in store. For every one of the $3.00 holders that are sold, $2.00 will be donated towards the “Someone I Know” capital campaign.
