Show your support for St. Marys Memorial Hospital and the Tradition Mutual Centre for Wellness in downtown St. Marys this Saturday, Sept. 19!
The St. Marys Hospital Foundation is holding its first ever Hospital Day, on Water Street (between Queen Street and the Green Bridge), as a way for everyone in the community to rally around our local healthcare staff and the facilities we hold dear to our heart. This event replaces the Radio Telethon which was held in previous years. The committee thought that a more “local event” would suit the community better.
The day begins with delicious breakfast sandwiches and coffee, cooked and served by healthcare staff, from 8 to 11 a.m. Lunch sausages and hotdogs will be served by members of the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both meals are by donation to the hospital foundation’s Someone I Know campaign.
Other events will take place all day, including performances by the talented students of the World’s Coolest Music Store, a teddy bear and doll hospital for younger children, while older children can try performing virtual animated surgeries – on iPad, of course. Look for other fun activities for all ages.
Hospital Day is a fundraiser for the foundation’s Someone I Know campaign, which has already raised half of its $5 million goal. Donations to the campaign will be gratefully accepted inside the McLean-Taylor Construction building on Water Street, and members of the campaign team will be on hand all day to discuss the campaign’s goals and achievements.
