On Sunday morning June 28, shortly after 3 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a small black vehicle driving on Station Street in St.Marys without headlights on.
The officer activated the cruisers emergency lighting in an attempt to pull over the vehicle, at which point the vehicle made an abrupt turn onto Peel St. North and pulled into a driveway. While the officer spoke to the driver of the vehicle, the odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath. The driver failed a roadside breath test and also failed subsequent Intoxilyzer breath tests at the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville.
