And your choice is “no” or “no”!

Cadzow
In a somewhat strange decision last week at Council, our elected representatives decided that they should not show you all four concepts for refurbishing Cadzow, which of course was paid for by tax dollars. It should be stated that the decision was a split decision with the tie broken by the Mayor.
So, just in case you were wondering what you missed here are all the concepts for your perusal.
First, the two that they do not want you to see. Concept A: Swimming pool remains, add a pool Forecourt, add a new playground, add a picnic pavilion and washrooms, modify existing parking and add a bandstand/gazebo. The cost for this concept would be $324,587 – $446,587.
Concept B: Remove pool and in its place add a splash pad, add a new playground area, add picnic pavilion and washrooms, modify existing parking and add a bandstand/gazebo. The cost for this concept is $314,200 – $521,200
The two concepts that will be on display at the upcoming public meeting are: Concept C: Remove the pool. In the pool’s location add an event lawn gathering space, add a splash pad, add picnic pavilion and washrooms, modify existing parking and add a bandstand/gazebo. Cost $459,007 – $769,307.
Concept D: Remove the pool, add a splash pad, add a new playground to include two zones to accommodate toddler and youth age groups, add picnic pavilion and washrooms, modify existing parking and add a stage and amphitheater. Cost $466,071 – $851,489.
Each of the four concepts had their own layout plans to clarify what the park would look like. But unfortunately, only two plans will be shown.
Something to think about…
