30th Annual Teddy Bears’ Reunion on Sunday – Festivities start at 1 PM

One of the most attended events in St. Marys is happening this Sunday. The 30th annual Teddy Bears’ Reunion attracts people of all ages, with their teddy bears of course, from far and wide. The event starts with the Parade starting at 1:00 pm and continues at East Ward Park. Everyone is welcome to participate in the parade but please note only real stuffed “teddy” bears are invited for judging. Wooden, plastic or human teddies do not qualify nor do pandas, which are not teddy bears. There will be plenty for all the childen to do, including games, crafts, train rides, inflatables, face painting, pony rides and new this year is the very popular paddles boat rides. There is a nominal fee for most of the events to cover expenses. Judging starts at 2:30 pm and the categories include “Best owner look-alike”, “Best sportsman teddy” (maybe some Blue Jays this year), “Largest teddy”, and “Best dressed” for either formal wear or seasonal wear (summer or winter). With the forecast for Sunday calling for sunshine, a great time should be had by all, both young and not so young.
